Burgundian Expertise in the Rhône
Pierre Vincent brings an extensive track record from Burgundy. Following his oenology studies in Dijon, he spent nearly twenty years at some of the region's most prestigious estates. He served at Domaine de la Vougeraie (Prémeaux-Prissey) from 2006 to 2016, and subsequently managed the iconic Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet until 2024. Currently, he focuses on his own 7-hectare estate, Domaine Pierre Vincent, in Auxey-Duresses.
His craftsmanship has received international acclaim, including being named Best Red Winemaker twice (in 2010 and 2014) at the International Wine Challenge in London.
Focus on Elegance and Finesse
The appointment of Vincent marks a deliberate strategic shift for Château Maucoil. While the estate is well-known for the power of its Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Bio, the future focus lies in enhancing elegance. By leveraging Vincent’s expertise in precision and terroir expression, the estate aims to produce wines with higher drinkability and a more refined flavour profile.
Through this collaboration, Château Maucoil continues to invest in the quality of its organic portfolio, blending the robust characteristics of the Rhône with the precision typical of the Burgundian style.
