Sustainability and environmental protection have always been two cornerstones of Roberto Felluga's philosophy. Mr. Felluga, today at the top of both Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore, is commited to the spread of good agricultural practices which are both sustainable and respectful for their surroundings.
They employ a cultivation system called integrated farming, lotta integrata, which puts together the best practices of both the biologic and the organic field and allows them to avoid the use of chemical products. Furthermore, they were the first Italian winery to test and then resort to the ozone: a natural gas which has a unique biocidal power and that does not leave any residue in the atmosphere.
Since many years, both Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore use energy produced from renewable sources. An at Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore sustainability also means preferring natural fertilizers to the chemical ones, and avoiding the use of herbicides, which may harm the Collio ecosystem. Moving Towards a Circular Economy Every choice they make aims at keeping the natural balance intact, and has as its goal the achievement of a circular economy: a key element in the environmental and social safeguard.
