Berliner 2017 Wein Trophy Gold for Champagne Baron Fuente Dolorès Rosé

How does a trophy work?

At a Berliner Wein Trophy, many different wines or spirits, which have been submitted by vintners and importers, are tasted by an independent international jury of experts in private and awarded points. During a Trophy, which usually takes place over three or four consecutive days, each juror may only taste a certain number of wines. The size of the jury therefore depends on the number of wines submitted. The number of possible entries is always limited.

Those who win in Berlin, win the hearts of the entire world of wine

Since its premiere in 2004, the competition has grown to become Germany's largest and most important international wine tasting. From behind closed doors at the Hotel am Borsigturm at Berlin Tegel, the international jury will taste over 5.000 fine wines and award their points. On the fourth day, the coveted medals will be awarded: Berlin Silver, Berlin Gold, and Berlin Premium Gold.

Patronage with the highest standards of quality

All competitions are under the auspices of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE) and are thus the most strictly controlled competitions worldwide. This ensures that all Trophies are awarded according to the same fair rules and high standards of quality.
