Since the 17th century, the Baron family owned a vineyard in Charly sur Marne, in the west of the Champagne area. The first bottles were produced and sold directly from the house. Since then, the company kept on developing year after year. Today, the champagne occupies 38 hectares of vineyards and the brand Baron Fuenté is owned by the Baron family.
Baron Fuenté has proved over and over again that their wines are from a high quality. The company has been awarded multiple times over the years. For example the awards mentioned below.
Wine Enthusiast : Our Millésime 2011, newly released from our cellars in 2020, is rewarded by the renowned American magazine Wine Enthusiast. Their food and wine expert Roger VOSS gave us a score of 90 out of 100.Tasting notes :“An attractive, now mature, blend of the three Champagne grapes from the Marne Valley, this has a touch of toast along with still bright fresh fruitiness. With a relatively high dosage that has now softened into the maturity of the wine, this is very ready to drink.” – R.V.
Berliner Wein Trophy : Berliner Wine Trophy has become the world’s largest wine competition and Germany’s most important international wine challenge under the patronage of the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) and the UIOE (International Union of Oenologists). Our Rosé Dolorès cuvée received this year the Gold medal at the Berliner Wein Trophy summer tasting. A great award that shows the consistency of quality of our blended Rosé, which also received the same medal in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
