The idea that every wine deserves a “dress” that is able to enhance it, is based on the commitment of Luigi Biscardo, Martino and Maurizio's father, who loved to personally look for bottles with original and distinctive shapes, able to express the personality of each wine, and matching with the labels he personally designed.
In 1966 Luigi Biscardo designed the unique bottle of Amarone Vintage. The creation of Luigi was unique and totally innovative, it stood out for many features from the common bottles of wine used in the national and international trade.
The main innovations that made the bottle of Amarone a piece of true art:
-the shape of the bottle, unique and sinuous: this design recalled the shape of the classic "fiaschetto", which in the 20s and 30s was used in traditional Italian taverns to pour the wine, but it had never been proposed as a wine bottle model in the international trade.
-the label: an innovative label that for the first time wrapped the bottle at 360 °. The natural colors that recalled the shades of cork and wood, a return to the essence of wine: the land and the vineyard.
-the glass: glass was fundamental to create the first sample, Luigi Biscardo relied on the mastery of skilled and selected glassmakers to make this extraordinary and unique bottle.
Thanks to all these elements, the bottle of the Amarone Vintage became a piece of great value, suited to the trend style of the 1960s. The bottle was launched in 1968, when the first "Recioto Amarone Classico - Biscardo" was distributed on the international market. Immediately, the bottle met the taste of many importers and the success was so great that Amarone Vintage became the emblem of the Biscardo family all over the world.
